Enola was built after two farmers, Francis and Wesley Miller, sold some land to be used as a flag station for the Pennsylvania Railroad. The town that sprung up around the railroad was named after one of their daughters, Enola. The railroad brought many families to the area in the early 1900s.
Today the population is a little under 6,000.
